Limousine Hire can and should be a pleasurable, memorable and rewarding experience, but not always! Are all limousines alike?

No.

There are a good number of older stretched limousines in the UK and the condition of these vehicles will vary greatly. The older limousines are more square, the picture in the top right hand corner is of one of our limousines, this has the rounded modern shape.

There is nothing wrong with the older stretched limousines, but if you want a more modern one, then make sure you ask at the time.

Why do so many companies have the older limousines?

Economics. A 2 or 3 years old limousine imported from the United States will cost around £40k and much higher if it has particularly low mileage. Many of the older cars can be purchased for less than £20k and often have considerable mileage on them, this wear and tear can also be evident in the general condition. So we would advise that you ask for good quality photographs of the actual vehicle.

Why are all the limousines white?

Well most of the limousines in the UK are white, this is because they are often used as wedding cars, so it is a popular choice for limousine hire companies. However, we like a few other limousine companies have black stretched limousines, which ensures that our clients really stand out from the crowd. If you want a black limousine, don't compromise, they are out there.

Are limousines suitable for wedding cars?

Yes. Stretched limousines are an excellent choice for the bride, the families, bridesmaids or even favoured guests. But a word of warning (you knew it was coming!), most stretched limousines have two doors at the rear, these are relatively small and can result in the Bride struggling to exit the vehicle with any degree of composure. If you are going to hire a white stretched limousine, ask if it has a wedding door. This is a $5,000 option, so many stretched limousines do not have them. Also, make sure you ask what colour the interior is.

How many passengers can a stretched limousine carry?

From a size point of view, this varies, some can carry up to 14 (or even more), but under the UK Road Traffic Act we are restricted to a maximum of 8 passengers. If anyone says otherwise, beware, aside from the legal aspects, in the event of something happening, you would not be insured.

What about insurance?

Insurance is a particularly expensive aspect of running a limousine hire business and can lead to shortcuts. Make sure the company you are talking to has adequate cover and that they have public liability insurance. How does Limousine Hire compare with rail journeys?

From a cost point of view, if there are 8 passengers and you opt for business class travel, in many cases a limousine would be less expensive, if you normally travel first class by rail, then you would definitely save money. That's why an increasing number of limousine hires are for groups of people attending sporting events, Rugby, Football etc. By way of a guide, 8 people could hire a stretched limousine for a day for around £55 a head.

I want to use a Limousine Company for a short run to impress my friends

The minimum hire period imposed by most limousine companies is 3 hours (including ours), so we would suggest you consider a Taxi!
